Jane's Addiction recruit new bassist
Dave Sitek is working with Jane's Addiction on their new album.
The producer and multi instrumentalist - a member of TV On The Radio - has replaced former Guns N' Roses member Duff McKagan as bassist, and is also thought to be helping the band write songs for their as-yet-untitled new album.
Frontman Perry Farrell said in a statement he and his bandmates - guitarist Dave Navarro and drummer Steve Perkins - are "fully immersed in the process of making modern music. It has been a great experience thus far, and the results have so much potential."
Although Dave has produced records for groups including his own, Foals and Yeah Yeah Yeahs, the album will be helmed by Rich Costey, who has previously worked with Muse and Glasvegas.
The album will be the group's first since 'Strays' in 2003.
Jane's Addiction were hit with the departure of the group's founding bassist Eric Avery, who dramatically quit in March. Duff later joined in April but quit five months later, citing "creative differences".Posted on 5 Jan 2011 06:30 to category : Music News
