Jared Followill hails Jack White's guitar playing
Jack White's electric guitar playing has been singled out for praise by fellow rock musician Jared Followill.
According to the Kings of Leon Star, The White Stripes are a unique rock band because their records contain no bass guitar.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, Followill said: "That's kind of the way I like my bass to sound - really distorted and almost fuzzed out enough to where it could be like a low-end guitar."
He added that White's electric guitar playing on records such as the White Blood Cells album is "unbelievable".
This follows similar praise by legendary electric guitar player Jimmy Page, who described White as a hero for young guitarists.
Speaking to BBC 6 Music, the Led Zeppelin star added that White has a very distinctive sound that is easily identifiable.Posted on 29 Dec 2009 19:00 to category : Instruments News
