Jared Leto's freedom haircut
Jared Leto got his hair cut into a pink Mohawk to embrace the "spirit of recklessness and freedom".
The 30 Seconds to Mars singer posted a twitter picture of himself with a shock of pink spiky hair across the middle of his otherwise shaved head last week, and has now explained the inspiration behind his radical new style.
Of his haircut, he said: "This aint gonna last too long. It's just for fun. On the road, you can embrace the spirit of recklessness and freedom. It's not like I have to show up to an office and adhere to a dress code."
The actor turned rocker also regularly sports eyeliner and nail polish when he appears onstage and although he said his hair isn't serious, he has previously told how the group - which also includes Tomo Milicevic and Shannon Leto - take their fans' dedication very seriously.
He said: "It's an amazing thing, the passion. It's always been a source of inspiration to us."
He also said they have an initiation process which fans must go through in order to join their fan club which is so secret he can't even give out details about it.
He said: "That's something we have to be very careful about. It's a very complex thing. There's an initiation process and everything."
