Jay-Z to produce The Great Gatsby soundtrack
The rapper's producer The Bullitts, real name Jeymes Samuel, revealed on Twitter that they would be involved with writing the score for the Baz Luhrmann blockbuster which hits screens on May 10th 2013.
Samuel wrote: "Jay-Z and myself have been working tirelessly on the score for the upcoming #CLASSIC The Great Gatsby! It is too DOPE for words!"
The Great Gatsby is an adaptation from the famous F. Scott Fitzgerald 1925 novel of the same name and boasts an all-star casts with the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Carey Mulligan and Isla Fisher all playing prominent roles.
It was originally scheduled for release in December 2012 but this has now been pushed back to May with producers saying the reason was so it could "reach the largest audience possible".
Jay-Z had been rumoured to be working on the soundtrack as one of the trailers featured the song, No Church in the Wild, in which he appeared with fellow rapper Kanye West.
