Jazz band keep going despite musical instruments being destroyed

A jazz band from Wales have not let their instruments being destroyed stop them.
Great deals on musical instruments

A Welsh jazz band have fought to keep going despite their musical instruments and van being burnt in an arson attack.

The Jiveaholics were visiting Derry in Ireland when the attack took place, and around £50,000 of equipment was damaged, including some instruments which had sentimental value for the band members.

However, the band have insisted that they will perform the shows scheduled in the city, having borrowed instruments from a local shop, reports the Derry Journal.

Speaking about the incident, the band's Koni Czny said that it was disappointing as the attack had taken place after a great show, with a great crowd.

"The support from everyone we have met since the fire has been fantastic, everyone has rallied round and given us all the help they can. We certainly wouldn't let what has happened put us off coming back to Derry and we hope to be back soon," he added.

The incident has been condemned by the town's mayor councillor Colum Eastwood, who told the local newspaper it was a "disgraceful act of wanton violence and destruction".

Jiveoholics are based in South Wales and perform all over the UK.

This summer they have appearances at Twinwood Festival, Bude Jazz Festival, Upton Jazz Festival and Derry Jazz Festival.
