Jeff Beck booked for Isle of Wight Festival
Electric guitar legend Jeff Beck is one of the latest names to be confirmed for next year's Isle of Wight festival.
The former Yardbirds star and multi-Grammy Award winner will be joined at the bash by the likes of Plan B, Pixie Lott and The Script, while Starsailor frontman James Walsh will be performing a solo set.
Festival promoter John Giddings expressed his delight at the latest round of bookings, adding that he considers Beck to be one of the greatest guitar players in the world.
Beck has had one of the longest and most illustrious careers in rock, being named 14th best guitarist ever by Rolling Stone magazine.
He has also appeared as a guest on a huge number of albums written by other stars including Mick Jagger, Kate Bush, Roger Waters and Stevie Wonder to name but a few.
The event is set to take place between June 10th and 12th 2011, marking the tenth anniversary of the event.
Considerable efforts have gone in to putting together a memorable line-up to mark the celebration, with some of the world's top bands being booked by the organisers.
Included among the confirmed headline acts so far are Pulp, The Strokes, Kings of Leon and Kasabian.
