Jeff Bridges to release music album
Hollywood actor Jeff Bridges is set to launch his own acoustic guitar music career after winning an Oscar for his performance in Crazy Heart.
In the film he played a down-and-out musician looking for a break, but it seems to be a matter of life imitating art, as Bridges looks set to release his first studio album this year.
Due out in the summer, the work has been produced by T-Bone Burnett, Music Mix reports, and Bridges will be performing a number of original pieces, as well as covers of classic tracks from Tom Waits, Bo Ramsey and Greg Brown.
He secured the record deal with noted jazz label Blue Note - which also sports artists including Norah Jones and Amos Lee.
Elsewhere, Fleet Foxes lead singer Robin Pecknold recently told NME magazine that the band's latest album was partly inspired by the dreams he had while trying to give up smoking.
"It [kind of] got to the point where I'd put a nicotine patch on before going to bed to see what would happen," he said, claiming that the patches made his dreams both "vivid" and "fun".
