Jimi Hendrix hailed by ex-Television guitar player
Electric guitar legend Jimi Hendrix has been hailed by former Television guitarist Richard Lloyd.
The American rocker named Hendrix's Axis: Bold as Love album as his favourite record of all time, along with Are You Experienced?
This, he stated, is because the Fender Stratocaster player was the "benchmark of greatness" for him during his teenage years.
"Things happen then that have more of an impact than what you hear when you're 30 or hear when you're four," Lloyd told Metropulse.
He described Hendrix as a master of the electric guitar who managed to put across the "vibrations of his soul" on his records.
Lloyd has just released an album of Hendrix cover versions called The Jamie Neverts story, which features his renditions of songs such as Little Miss Lover, Castles Made Of Sand and Purple Haze.
This comes shortly after Hendrix's sister Janie revealed that lots of previously unheard tracks from her late brother will be made available over the next decade.Posted on 15 Oct 2009 17:15 to category : Band / Celebrity News
