Jimi Hendrix named as greatest guitar player
The musical instrument manufacturer has been running a countdown of the 50 best guitarists during this week, revealing the top ten today (May 28th 2010).
Hendrix took the top spot, with Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page in second and Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones in third.
Other musicians to make the top ten included Jeff Beck, Pete Townshend, Eric Clapton and Eddie Van Halen.
"Never has a guitar player appeared so 'at one' with his instrument his live shows were more out-of-body experiences than performances," it said.
