Jimmy Page admits to owning 'far too many' electric guitars

Led Zeppelin legend Jimmy Page has revealed that he owns more electric guitars than he knows what to do with.

The rock star - who is perhaps best known for playing a Gibson Les Paul throughout his career - said his collection has grown to a considerable size during the decades.

Indeed, he stated that he now owns "far too many" electric guitars, although he noted that he has some of them for nostalgic reasons

"I can trim my guitar collection down to what I actually use to quite a few," Page commented.

The Led Zeppelin star, who played on rock classics such as Stairway to Heaven and Communication Breakdown - added that an electric guitar once owned by Eddie Cochran and Buddy Holly is among his most prized possessions.

Page's enthusiasm for real instruments emerged earlier this week when he criticised the popular Guitar Hero video game, arguing that it is no substitute for learning to play a real guitar.
