Jimmy Page showcases new material in movie
The Led Zeppelin star is appearing in a movie documentary about the history of the electric guitar with Jack White of The White Stripes and U2's The Edge.
Speaking to Billboard.com, Page said the film, which is called It Might Get Loud, contains more than just old favourites.
"I didn't go in there thinking 'let's see what we can get away with from the past'," he commented.
"It was important to have something that shows I'm still working on the guitar."
However, one of Page's collaborators on the movie project recently praised the experience of watching him perform some of his classic material.
The Edge told MusicRadar that seeing him play the riff to Led Zeppelin's classic song Whole Lotta Love was "electric".
Page added that while the new songs are still at an early stage, he has recently been trying them out with other musicians and plans to enter a recording studio to work on them and other new material.Posted on 14 Aug 2009 11:29 to category : Band / Celebrity News
