John Lennon Plays Orange Amp During Legendary Performance
Recent pictures have come to light that show the two legendary electric guitar players on stage with a 1971 OR200 Orange Matamp.
This was during one of the last concerts ever performed at New York's Fillmore East the same year.
Up until now, Orange said that they "?had heard stories of a legendary concert during which John Lennon played an Orange amp.
"We assumed that these were just rumors."
The picture is also thought to reveal one of the first official sightings of Orange amplifiers being used in the US.
The performance spawned two live recordings: Frank Zappa's Mothers "Fillmore East - 1971" and John and Yoko's "Some Time In New York City."
Although it is unclear from the images as to which of the two guitarists is actually playing the amp, Orange are delighted to have either legend gracing their amps.Posted on 7 Jul 2010 12:40 to category : Instruments News
