John Lydon reveals the name of Public Image Ltd's new studio album
Lydon, who also goes by the name of Johnny Rotten, reformed the post-punk band back in 2009.
They have been working on new material ever since the day they decided they still wanted to work together and have finally come up with the goods that has everyone excited.
It is expected that the album will 'drop' – as they say in the music business – early next year.
The 55-year-old vocalist, who was once part of the short-lived but culturally significant band Sex Pistols back in the 70s, told BBC 6Music that part of the reason for such a delay in releasing the record was down to financial restraints.
"I was always full of ideas, but I had to wait until I had enough money to release an album," he said.
"Everybody thinks I made such a fortune with the Sex Pistols. Well, unfortunately that is not true, to make this record we had to tour extensively for two years."
Public Image Ltd, though never as critically and commercially successful as the Sex Pistols, are viewed as one of the innovators of the post-punk music scene.
