John Mayer designs guitar for Katy Perry
The US rocker and pop star have been rumoured to be dating and sources told The Sun newspaper that the instrument is filled with intricate designs such as Perry's initials along with the date in which they first met.
The source explained to the British tabloid news provider: "John has put some serious effort into his Christmas gift for Katy. Since they met he has been trying to prove he isn't the guy everyone says he is.
"This should definitely prove that - every little detail on the guitar shows how much he thinks of her."
Mayer released his last record, Born and Raised, in May 2012 and was listed 17th in Rolling Stone magazine's top 50 albums of the year with the publication describing the record as “a shot at redemption that's as on target as anything he's done”.
Katy Perry's last album, Teenage Dream, was released in 2010 and scored a string of number ones and reached the second spot on the US Billboard 200.
