Johnny Cash Museum to open

A new museum dedicated Johnny Cash it to be opened celebrating his life.
Johnny Cash was a great singer
Late country and blues guitarist Johnny Cash is to have a new museum opened in celebration of his contribution to music.

The new building in Nashville will be situated on the city's main strip, Lower Broadway, and operated by a gentleman by the name of Bill Miller, who has an outstanding collection of memorabilia of the star.

The memory of Cash, who would have turned 80 this month, has continued to endure, with the movie Walk the Line bringing him to the attention of a new generation of music lovers.

"He's been an incredible supporter of my dad and one of the largest collectors of memorabilia," said Cash's daughter Rosanne of Mr Miller.

She told the Associated Press: "If anybody has the whole structure to put up a museum, he does. So I have a lot of trust in him and I think it's great at this point. I think he'll do something with dignity and class that's historically important, not some kitschy thing. I'm very interested in seeing what he does."

Cash, who was known for his deep baritone voice and mesmeric songwriting skills, passed away in 2003 at the age of 71.
