Jonny Greenwood's versatility 'helps create Radiohead's sound'
Jonny Greenwood, the lead guitar player in Radiohead, has been praised for his ability to play several different instruments.
According to an article on Den of Geek, the star is not only a great guitar player but also has several other strings to his bow.
"Adept at playing synths, keys and number of other instruments, Greenwood's also a skilled user of the ondes Martenot, an instrument that dates back to 1928 and produces an eerie sound," it said.
The article stated that it was often these instruments that help give Radiohead their experimental sound.
Greenwood has also composed the scores for several films, including There Will Be Blood.
Earlier this year, Ed O'Brien, one of Greenwood's bandmates in Radiohead, told the BBC that now is a great time for young musicians as the current uncertainty about the future of the music industry is helping to provide huge scope for creativity and innovation.Posted on 23 Mar 2010 17:30 to category : Instruments News
