Kasabian: UK has a shortage of rock bands
Kasabian's electric guitar player has warned that not enough major rock 'n' roll bands are hailing from the UK.
Serge Pizzorno told Click Liverpool that the recent split of Oasis has left a considerable void in the British rock scene.
"There aren't many proper rock 'n' roll bands left," he lamented.
"Can you name one?"
Pizzorno struggled to list any more than his own band and Sheffield rockers Arctic Monkeys.
He added that he has "no interest whatsoever" in ITV1's hit show The X Factor, saying it goes over his head.
"It's for kids," Pizzorno commented.
He revealed that his sister's children are very keen on the programme, although he pledged to educate them about artists such as Jimi Hendrix when they get older.
Kasabian are currently gearing up for an 11-date UK tour, which gets underway in Aberdeen on November 11th 2009.
The band will also perform in cities such as London, Liverpool, Birmingham and Cardiff before wrapping up the tour in Bournemouth.Posted on 11 Nov 2009 12:30 to category : Band / Celebrity News
