Kasabian 'aiming to make their own version of OK Computer'
Indie band Kasabian have lofty aims for their next record, electric guitar player Serge Pizzorno has explained.
Speaking to NME, the star said the group are aiming to emulate Radiohead's seminal OK Computer album when they make the follow-up to West Ryder Lunatic Asylum.
"Not necessarily the sound, but OK Computer, as a record that just makes you go, 'Wow' [is the inspiration]," he explained.
"I want to aim for something that's as incredible as that, just the feeling of being blown away that you get from that."
Kasabian have already begun writing their next record, with Pizzorno hopeful they will be able to release some new music ahead of their headline slots at the Isle of Wight Festival and RockNess in June.
The electric guitar player added he is looking forward to playing their new material live, as well as delivering a "great album" for their fans to enjoy.
Following the confirmation of Kasabian as 2011 headliners at the Isle of Wight Festival last November, event organiser John Giddings declared the band to be one of the "kings of rock 'n' roll".
He added that the group have helped to reignite the British music scene since their arrival.
