Kings of Leon to release documentary in UK
The Kings of Leon will unveil their new documentary in the UK on June 25th 2011.
Premiering at the Edinburgh Film Festival, the film, which is called Talihina Sky: The Story of Kings of Leon, takes the viewer on a historical journey of the band's meteoric rise from life in Tennessee to the world stage, reported BBC Radio 1.
After the premiere, fans and cinema-goers alike will be able to see the film in July at any one of 150 cinemas across the UK.
Some of the screenings will see the four-piece American rock outfit appear in person for a special Q&A.
Speaking to Radio 1, Nathan Followill, the drum player, said the band would never have imagined that their story would have made it to the big screen.
He said: "We filmed the documentary for the last ten years of our lives, just goofing off. We didn't know it would be anything more than just home movies, but it turned out to be something a lot bigger."
He added that they "didn't hold anything back".
As such, the film will offer an honest portrait of one of the biggest bands to have emerged in recent times.
The Kings of Leon formed in 1999. A curious fact is that all of their album titles have five syllables.
