Lars Ulrich: Metallica will record again next year
Lars Ulrich, the man behind the drum kit in Metallica, has said the band are hopeful of recording a new album next year.
Speaking to Pulse Radio, the drummer explained the group are looking forward to getting started on the follow-up to 2008's Death Magnetic.
"We haven't really written since, what, 2006, 2007 and we want to get back to kind of just being creative again," Ulrich stated.
He added Metallica intend to begin work on their next album in spring 2011 after taking some time off in the next few months.
The band are currently in the midst of a sold-out arena tour in Australia, which has already seen them play three shows in Sydney.
Metallica are due to perform the first of two Adelaide gigs tonight (November 15th) at the Entertainment Centre, before rounding off their live commitments for the year with a trio of performances in Melbourne.
