Led Zeppelin 'offered Download Festival headline slot'
Legendary electric guitar band Led Zeppelin were offered the chance to play at this year's Download Festival, it has been revealed.
Andy Copping, the man in charge of booking the acts for the event, told XFM that adding the band to the line-up would have helped to bring about his dream bill, as AC/DC are already confirmed to appear.
"If I could get Led Zeppelin to play at Download, it would be phenomenal," said Copping. "If that's not going to happen, I'm more than happy with what we've got."
Copping added that Led Zeppelin were regularly approached by festival organisers but have turned down every offer they have got so far.
Last month, it was announced that Rage Against the Machine and Aerosmith will also be playing at this year's Download, which is to take place between June 11th and 13th 2010.
Other acts set to wield electric guitars at the event include Them Crooked Vultures, Stone Temple Pilots and Motorhead.Posted on 24 Mar 2010 16:15 to category : Band / Celebrity News
