Leona Lewis' ethical tour
Leona Lewis has splashed out £175,000 on animal friendly outfits for her debut world tour.
The 'Bleeding Love' star has paid for the ethical clothes out of her own pocket, and has had the expensive items designed by Antonio Berardi.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Leona has been quite forceful with Antonio. She has insisted that the outfits are as ethically sound as they possibly can be.
"She's paid for all the clothes out of her own pocket, so she has been quite hands-on in terms of design."
Leona is a committed vegetarian, doesn't wear leather or suede and has been an outspoken campaigner for animal rights since finding fame in 2006.
She has previously said: "When I see people wearing fur it makes me so sick. Especially when I see young singers doing it - that sickens me. At my first photo shoot they had feathers and fur there and everything. I had to make it so clear that I just do not go there."
Leona's first tour 'The Labyrinth' - which is named after and inspired by her favourite film, which starred David Bowie and was released in 1986 - has cost £5 million to stage, and kicks off tomorrow night (28.05.10) in Sheffield, England.
The 25-year-old star is confident the run of concerts will not disappoint her fans, saying: "I have put so much love and care into making this over the last six months. I'm going to put on an incredible show."Posted on 27 May 2010 10:00 to category : Music News
