Les Paul weekend to be held at Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
A celebration of the influence of Les Paul on electric guitar manufacture is to take place at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio.
Between August 13th and 15th 2010, a series of events are to be held at the site, with film screenings, guitar exhibits and special tribute concerts planned to go ahead.
Guitar manufacturer Gibson will also be in town for the event, giving fans the chance to try out Les Paul guitars and attend an interview with Michael McGuire, the operations manager of its custom shop.
Last month, Jeff Beck paid his own tribute to Les Paul by performing two special gigs at the Iridium Night Club in New York.
The concerts saw Beck play classic Paul songs along with covers of Bill Haley songs.
E Street Blues guitarist Steven Van Zandt told BBC News that it was "the best show I ever seen in my life".
