Liam Gallagher: New album is not a big departure
Liam Gallagher's first album without brother and electric guitar player Noel Gallagher will not involve a new musical direction.
Speaking to the News of the World, the Oasis singer revealed that he will stick to his rock roots and not branch out into genres such as reggae or rap.
However, he said his new record might have a "bit more energy and be fresher" than his previous music.
Oasis split during the summer when Noel Gallagher walked out after a feud with his brother.
Liam is continuing to work with the remaining band members, including bass guitar player Andy Bell and guitarist Gem Archer under the working title Oasis 2.0.
He recently hinted to the Evening Standard that the band might stick to their previous moniker, as he did not want to introduce a ridiculous name "for the sake of it".
"We've already done about three songs and they're sounding amazing," he commented.
The vocalist added that he is hoping to have his record in the shops by July 2010.Posted on 14 Dec 2009 20:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
