Libertines' guitarist wants to do third album
Carl Barat, the electric and acoustic guitar player in The Libertines, has expressed a desire to record a third album with his old bandmates.
The group reformed earlier this year and is performing at the Reading and Leeds Festivals this weekend, after playing live at the Forum in London this week.
Appearing at a question and answer session, Barat was asked by a fan whether he believes they will record new material.
According to NME, he replied: "I reckon so. Of course, we've got that vessel The Libertines and of course we want to do other things, but it's a funny old business. We'll just see how it goes."
He was playing a show with his acoustic guitar at the Levi store on Regent Street and performed a number of The Libertines' tracks during the gig, such as Time For Heroes and Don't Look Back Into The Sun.
The Libertines split after the recording of their second album, with Barat going on to form Dirty Pretty Things and lead singer Pete Doherty dating Kate Moss and playing with Babyshambles.
