Libertines reunion 'will have to wait at least two years'
Electric guitar player Carl Barat has confirmed that a Libertines reunion is at least two years away.
Speaking to the BBC, he said he is too busy with his solo career to consider getting back together with Pete Doherty and co in the immediate future.
However, Barat said it is possible that the four-piece band could play together in 2011, schedule permitting.
"We'll see how it goes," he commented.
"I'm not just going to jump up there and play the songs for some money."
The band split up in 2004, with individual members going on to form groups such as Dirty Pretty Things and Babyshambles.
Barat is now recording a solo album, which he has described as a very liberating experience.
He revealed that at the moment, a lot of the record features acoustic guitars and string instruments, although he added that does not know whether this style will dominate the LP.
The Libertines made their name with debut album Up the Bracket in 2002, as well as hit singles including Time for Heroes and Don't Look Back into the Sun.Posted on 4 Oct 2009 09:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
