Lil Wayne brandishes electric guitar on stage
Lil Wayne sported an electric guitar on stage and even covered an Aerosmith track at a recent gig in London.
The rap star was playing at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo this week to showcase material from his new album Rebirth, which features his first forays into a rockier style.
He made sure his audience knew about his change of direction by putting on an electric guitar and playing a fragment of the Aerosmith classic Walk This Way.
Lil Wayne also performed songs from his latest record to a British crowd for the first time, including the rock track Prom Queen.
However, NME noted that the rapper was apparently unable to play the electric guitar and simply "tapped at one string frenetically".
The London Evening Standard was also unimpressed with Lil Wayne's new style, as it described his cover of Walk This Way as "messy" and his performance of Prom Queen as "disastrous".Posted on 9 Oct 2009 16:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
