Lil' Wayne says album leak is a good thing

Rapper Lil' Wayne has met the early leak of his latest album with positivity.
Great deals on musical instruments
Unlike his hip hop peers Kanye West and Jay Z who were pottering about hotels rooms trying to keep a tight lid on their seminal Watch the Throne LP, Lil' Wayne has adopted a more pragmatic approach to things. The rapper, known for his laidback vocals, told MTV that when he heard his new [studio](http://www.gear4music.com/Studio-Equipment.html) album had been leaked online before it officially came out on August 29th he didn't see it as a totally negative thing. Weezy, as he is popularly known, told MTV that Tha Carter IV was found online and available for illegal download a full five days before its official release. He said: "We did real good this time, real good. It just means people want to hear it. "I mean, 'cause there's people's albums that come out that can be leaked and don't leak, so I'm glad mine's leaked." Coming from a record label called Cash Money Records, many in the industry were expecting a blowout from the rapper and his team. However, such is Lil' Wayne's fame in the rap game and US music, Cash Money said it doesn't see this as a problem in terms of sales. Mack Maine, president of the label told MTV: "I think we should still do well. The leak shouldn't have affected it that much. "Tha Carter III leaked two weeks before and we still did [one million] the first week. So if history repeats itself, we shouldn't have any problems."
