Man creates longest piano in the world
Adrian Mann, 23, who started building the musical instrument when he was a teenager in 2005, wants his creation to be graced by the pop legend's expert fingers.
It took Mr Mann four years to make the 7.5 metre long piano, which is currently sitting in Otago Museum.
"It was a bit of a challenge," he told the Otago Daily Times.
"I started asking myself questions. I discovered that longer strings make better sound."
His work has not gone unnoticed. The museum's marketing coordinator, Juliet Pierce, sees it as an incredible feat.
"Although there was some motivation for bringing the piano down around getting Elton John to play the piano, I think for us it's just a great opportunity for the Otago community to be able to see such a fantastic accomplishment by a young South Cantabrian," she told the Timaru Herald.
Last weekend, Lady Gaga announced on Alan Carr's Chatty Man show that she is to work with Elton on a new track.
