Many unheard Hendrix tracks exist, says guitar player's sister
Speaking to Gibson, Janie Hendrix described the late musician as a "workaholic" and said he spent lots of time in the recording studio.
As a result, he produced a great deal of material, much of which has still not been heard almost 40 years after his death.
Ms Hendrix said she plans to issue the songs every 12 to 18 months for the next decade.
"It's almost as if he knew he had only four years to accomplish everything that he did," she commented.
"We have an amazing amount of original masters."
She added that while these are kept in a temperature-controlled vault, everything has already been duplicated and are stored elsewhere in the event of "something catastrophic" happening.
This comes shortly after Gibson named Jimi Hendrix as the greatest electric guitar player in rock history, claiming that his innovations and accomplishments have still not been matched by any other rock star.Posted on 23 Sep 2009 17:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
