Marilyn Manson drummer leaves band

Chris Vrenna, formerly of Nine Inch Nails, has left Marilyn Manson's band.

Chris Vrenna, who used to play the drums for Nine Inch Nails, has announced he is leaving Marilyn Manson's band.

Vrenna had first come into Manson's coterie of musicians as a keyboard player, which he excels in.

In a statement he said: "I'm incredibly proud of the work I did with Manson and look forward to the release of 'Born Villain.'"

"I wish my brothers well but with the recording largely completed I felt it was time to return to other facets of my career which involves production work, film scoring, and future musical collaborations."

His nod to the band's eighth studio album Born Villain was made, in part, because of the fact he features on the recording.

Interestingly, the talented musician will not be returning to his roots behind a drum kit.

Vrenna is looking to get behind some DJ equipment, continue producing sounds for video games and get technical with the engineering side of the music business.

Manson recently showed his artistic side with a new exhibition of his art in Mexico.

Some of the paintings reference Surrealism, especially the work of Salvador Dali.

"I want to create something that is inspiring to other people and not in a hippy humanitarian way," he said.
