Mars Volta bassist praises Fender Squier guitar
The musician recently got hold of a Fender Squier Classic Vibe '60s Precision Bass guitar in fiesta red, which he has described as his "new baby".
In comments reported by the official Fender blog FrontRow, Alderete said that he had first picked up the instrument at a bass guitar convention and decided immediately that the model was perfect for his needs.
"I played it and I was like, 'This thing rules'. I had to have it because I felt like if I waited for another one, it wouldn't be the exact same. This was the guy," he recalled.
The Mars Volta star said he had a similar experience with his last Fender Squier, which he had purchased after practicing on it for a short period.
Last year saw Alderete and the rest of The Mars Volta engage in a short tour of South America as part of their live commitments.
