Matt Bellamy brushing up on guitar skills
Speaking to Classic Rock magazine he admitted that he has not really focuses on his guitar playing on the band's previous albums and wanted to pull out all the stops for the band's new release The 2nd Law.
"I kind of feel embarrassed that people always seem to think I'm a good guitarist, so on this album I wanted to make an effort. It's the first time I've done some actual guitar solos. I think my favourite one is ‘Animals' where I'm playing a very clean guitar sound," he told the news provider.
And guitar playing was not the only challenge Bellamy faced when recording the band's sixth studio album, as the group also produced the record themselves.
"We've learned to create these challenges that make us do something in the opposite way to what we'd expect," he added.
As well as playing the guitar and singing, Bellamy also plays the keyboard, piano amnd synthesiser.
