Matt Cardle: Simon's Naughty

X Factor winner Matt Cardle not happy about One Direction releasing music before him.

Matt Cardle, who won the X Factor last year, has revealed he is furious with Simon Cowell for allowing One Direction to release music before him.

Cardle, whose new song Run For Your Life is written by Take That's Gary Barlow, is truly "miffed" that Cowell has allowed this to happen.

Speaking to the Sunday Mirror, he said: "It's worrying me that if One Direction decide to get slicker and go for more of an older market, then I'm stuffed too. It shouldn't have happened really. Simon's naughty."

The 28-year-old singer added that he hoped to "cement" himself as a credible artist before that can ever happen with his studio album Letters, which is released on October 17th.

"I can't win unless I have an album that does the talking, and I think it does."

Cher Lloyd, who was runner-up in 2010 has also put out music ahead of Cardle, with her debut single Swagger Jagger storming straight to the top of the charts.

Barlow is to be paid £1 million for penning the now traditional X Factor Christmas song, which is given to the winner of the show.
