McCartney guitar to feature in art installation
A bass guitar once played by pop legend Sir Paul McCartney is to feature in an art installation in Liverpool.
Set to be called the Mersey Sound Wave, the art installation is the idea of musician-singer-songwriter Bill Hart and will involve participation from local schools and colleges.
The music enthusiast is hoping to gather enough guitars to create the artwork by 2011 to mark the 50-year anniversary of Merseybeat, an entertainment paper which describes itself as a source of information on the Beatles and many other Liverpool bands.
Ray Johnson, events manager at the Cavern, said: "I think the Mersey Sound Wave is a great way to commemorate and celebrate the 50th anniversary of Merseybeat and I'm pretty confident we'll be able to get 100 guitars together."Posted on 18 Feb 2009 12:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
