McFly away from the charts?

'Party Girl' singers McFly no longer care about chart positions.

McFly no longer care about chart positions.

The 'Party Girl' hitmakers recently launched a pay-to-use website 'McFly Super City'- which allows fans access to exclusive content, as well as downloads of their music for free - and insist they are not concerned about the impact giving their tracks away through the site will have on their sales.

Singer Tom Fletcher said: "Chart positions have become less and less important.

"Unless you are number one, no one pays attention to whether you are number two or number 15 and no one really cares.

"We'd prefer fans to sign up to our super site than give us a number one single. It means a hell of a lot more than someone just downloading the song."

McFly Super City costs £6 per month or £40 per year, compared to an average price of £0.79 per song on other download sites.

The group showcase a new sound on forthcoming album 'Above The Noise' but Tom- who is joined in the band by Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd - insists it doesn't mean they are turning their backs on pop.

He added: "It's very different to what we've done before. It's taking the sound of Michael Jackson, Prince and Madonna but without losing our pop melodies.
