Mighty Boosh announce debut album is finished
The Mighty Boosh have announced that that they have completed their long-awaited debut album but remain vague as to when it will actually be released.
What is certain is that it will be coming out as a tie-in with their equally highly-anticipated film, which follows on from their extremely successful and eccentric hit TV show.
Julian Barrett told BBC 6 Music that they were happy with the production of the album, which was recorded in New York's Electric Ladyland Studios.
He said: "We're just waiting for a time to put it [the album] out really. I don't know, when we get round to writing the next film or something we'll tie it in and release it together."
The comedy team, fronted by Barrett and Noel Fielding, have described it as "psychedelic prog-rock" material, in part inspired by Led Zeppelin and Frank Zappa.
It is expected that the music will be as every bit "kooky" as their wacky TV show, which is often involves a lot of improvisation.
The Mighty Boosh began life on the stage before moving into radio and then finally breaking through to mainstream TV.
The comedy troupe have since gone on tour with the show in the UK and the US.
