Mike Skinner 'proud to have control over The Streets'
Mike Skinner has said he has enjoyed having full creative control over the output of The Streets.
The rapper has just completed his final album using the moniker, with Skinner working in his own studio to make it.
He told BBC Radio 4 he was proud of how Computers and Blues had been made.
"This album … was written by me, it was engineered by me, it was recorded by me, it was mixed by me and it was mastered by me," Skinner said.
"As far as I'm aware no-one else in the world does that."
The musician explained that he is drawing the curtain down on The Streets after five records as he feels he has explored all the ideas he wanted to in the act.
He is set to go on tour, before writing a book and making a film in the next few years.
His run of UK live dates in support of Computers and Blues is due to get underway in Edinburgh on February 18th, with further gigs planned in Glasgow, Liverpool, Oxford and Manchester.
The final show of the run will take place in Newcastle on March 12th.
