Mogwai lose Gretsch & Fender guitars in burglary
Among the items taken was a red 1960s Gretsch Country Gentleman guitar that was owned by frontman Stuart Braithwaite.
The guitar was taken from the band's base in Glasgow's city centre as part of a number of stolen goods valued at approximately £15,000.
Mr Braithwaite's £5,000 guitar was used in some of the band's most famous records, including Happy Songs for Happy People and Mr Beast.
The band's Facebook page lists the missing musical equipment as including a Fender 72 telecaster, a Fender acoustic guitar and a Marshall Bass series guitar series head, among a number of other items.
They first reached public recognition with the release of debut album Mogwai young Team and followed up their success with a string of six other releases, including 2011 album Hardcore Will Never Die, But you Will.
