Mott the Hoople perform reunion gigs
Electric guitar player Mick Ralphs has got back together with singer Ian Hunter for a series of Mott the Hoople reunion shows.
The legendary band, which split up in the early 1970s, are currently undertaking five reunion shows at the Hammersmith Apollo.
Fans were treated to classics such as the David Bowie-written All The Young Dudes, as well as One of the Boys and All The Way From Memphis.
According to Independent, Mott elicited "genuine waves of joy" in the crowd, who viewed them "more as mates than rock gods".
The Times also gave the gig the thumbs-up, noting that the band got a "joyful and surprisingly energetic response".
"For a band that lasted barely five years, Mott left a deep catalogue of songs," it commented.
Following the split of Mott the Hoople, Mick Ralphs joined forces with former Free vocalist Paul Rodgers and founded Bad Company, which notched up more classic rock hits including Can't Get Enough and Feel Like Makin' Love.Posted on 5 Oct 2009 16:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
