Mumford & Sons maintain fastest-selling UK album
The X Factor boy band are quickly becoming a major force within the world of pop, receiving huge attention from fans all over the globe since their rise to fame during the 2010 edition of the talent show.
One Direction's latest album Take Me Home failed to beat Mumford & Sons' to take the accolade of fast-selling record of the year despite claiming top spot in the charts this week.
The boy band's album sold 155,000 copies in the first week but fell 3,000 short of the 158,000 total secured by Mumford & Sons, according to figures from the Official Chart Company.
Mumford & Sons' second album has received widespread critical acclaim and has topped the charts in a multitude of countries including Canada, New Zealand the UK and the US Billboard 200.
The band are currently in the middle of a sold-out UK tour which culminates which a huge show at London's O2 Arena next month (December 18th).
