Muse take Best Band accolade at NME Awards
Electric guitar band Muse walked away with the Best Band gong at the NME Awards for the second year in succession last night (February 23rd).
The Devon trio have a long history of success in the category, first winning the accolade back in 2007.
They picked up the prize once again at a ceremony held at the O2 Academy in Brixton, with their award being jointly presented to them by Marina Diamandis from Marina and the Diamonds and Primal Scream's Bobby Gillespie.
Muse had tough competition for the honour, beating fellow nominees Foals, Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian and Biffy Clyro to claim it.
The band's electric guitar player and lead singer Matt Bellamy had a double reason to celebrate at the NME Awards, as he was also named Sexiest Male for the fourth time in the annual show's history.
Other winners on the night included My Chemical Romance - who picked up the Best International Band and Best Video accolades - and Foals, who won out in the Best Track category for the song Spanish Sahara.
Meanwhile, the Best Album gong went to Arcade Fire for their critically-acclaimed third record The Suburbs.
