Music cash from BBC
The corporation has said that up-and-coming music instrument players or singers will soon be able to apply for some music experience via a Music Fellowship initiative.
Meanwhile, music groups will be able to apply for grants from a Community Music initiative.
They could be given as much as £10,000 if getting composers to write new material is on their agenda, or as much as £5,000 for other uses, says the BBC.
Both initiatives are part of £450,000 worth of awards from the corporation's Performing Arts Fund.
"Music has been part of the BBC Performing Arts Fund since it was formed out of Fame Academy," said the charity's chair, Dorothy Wilson.
"We will continue that support by investing in community groups such as choirs, bands and orchestras as well as nurturing new talent across the UK."
Fame Academy was a pre- X Factor singing programme shown by the BBC.
Viewers voting on forthcoming programme The Voice - which features Tom Jones and Jessie J - by phone, will help earn the Performing Arts Fund cash, say the BBC.
