NAMM 2012: Akai MPC Renaissance Controller Launched
Akai's MPC Renaissance brings the legendary MPC line fully up to date, with tight integration into your computer based workflow. Launched at NAMM 2012, Akai Professional's aim with the MPC is to fuse its revered layout with your computer. As an integrated hardware/software system, the MPC Renaissance enables users to make music using hardware controls, editing and performing via exclusive MPC software. The hardware features 16 genuine MPC backlit pads, 16 Q-Link controls and adjustable backlit LCD screen. Classic functions such as MPC Note Repeat, Swing and transport controls feature on board, as well as an integrated pop up display. The MPC Renaissance features a four channel USB 2.0 audio interface, as well as two XLR-1/4" combo inputs and a dedicated turntable input. The output of the MPC Renaissance can be modelled to offer the vintage output character of the MPC3000, MPC60 and much more. The bundled software allows for 64 track sequencing, as well as instant mapping and real-time adjustment of VST plug-ins. Each track can be recorded as an MPC drum program, Keygroup program or VST plugin. With a huge +6GB sound library, and support for samples from across the MPC line, as well as WAV, MP3, AIFF, REX and SND files, the MPC software allows you to get creative in a way never seen before.
