NAMM 2013: What's New From Korg?
There's more to look forward to for synth fans, as Korg unveil their Kaossilator Pro+, a dynamic phrase synthesizer and loop recorder, a supercharged version to compete with other live performance instruments in its category.
The reknowned Kaoss Pad gets a new leave of life with the KP3+. The intuitive design will be familiar to many, but the formidable sampler has been updated to be the effects unit that will generate the sound of 2013.
For percussionists, Korg introduce the latest member of the Wavedrum family, the Global Edition. Armed with percussion sounds from around the world, the Wavedrum includes the udu, jegog, djembe, cajon and gongs, all at your fingertips.
The sophisticated surface provides you with amazing tonal versatility, including the option to change the sound of the Wavedrum's decay - impossible on a conventional acoustic instrument. The Wavedrum even includes string sounds such as Sitar, Koto and Berimbau, as well as 200 user presets where you can save your own sounds.
For those who prefer keys, the new SP-280 Digital Stage Piano has a beautiful piano sound, but also includes authentic vintage electric piano sounds for when you require something a little different. Natural Weighted Hammer Action keys give you a feel incredibly close to an acoustic piano, but the SP-280 is built for the stage, a portable and lightweight piece of kit with sturdy metal stand for easy set-up.
