Nail varnish – the key to being a great guitar player
Milos Karadaglic, a Montenegrin classical guitar player who is fast becoming a household name, told the Brisbane Times that his "special nails" – long so that he can pluck the strings of the guitar with precision – are reinforced with "special nail varnish".
''They're all mine. But I have a little help from strengthener. I have to reapply it every day. If you have weak nails, you should think about the ladies' salons because they have gels and all sorts of things.''
Karadaglic chanced upon the guitar almost by accident – he discovered a battered old one on top of a cupboard in his parent's bedroom.
As soon as he held it in his hands he knew that this was meant to be.
Speaking to the Music Network, he said: "Discovering guitar at that difficult time was a blessing.
"In a way, music formed a magic bubble from the outside world. It was the same for all of us that attended the music school - we were surrounded by loving teachers who did the best they could with the resources at hand."
