Nathan Followill 'so sad' at Kings of Leon cancellation
Nathan Followill, the man behind the drum kit in the Kings of Leon, has expressed his disappointment that the band were forced to postpone their planned show at the O2 Arena in London last night (December 21st 2010).
A blaze that set alight to two of the group's tour buses meant preparations for the show were thrown into chaos, resulting in a decision by organisers to cancel the event, which had sold out.
In a series of messages to his followers on Twitter, Followill said he felt "so sad" the gig could not go ahead and promised Kings of Leon followers who had tickets to the event that they would make it up to them.
The drummer added that he felt sorry both for the fans and the band's road crew, who had lost many of their possessions, including their passports, in the fire.
"I'm thankful everyone's safe," he added.
A statement on the Kings of Leon website also expressed the group's disappointment at the postponement.
"Kings of Leon send their sincerest apologies to all the fans who were planning and travelling to attend what was due to be a triumphant finale to their European tour," the band said.
