Ne-Yo makes movie album
Ne-Yo's new album is inspired by a film script he has written.
The 'Closer' singer has been developing a screenplay about "love, money and fame" and is trying to get a Hollywood studio to take it on, and his upcoming LP contains several songs based on the potential movie.
The R&B star said: "My new album is a series of songs inspired by the script that I wrote, but it's not a musical."
The as-yet untitled LP is set to be released in September, regardless of whether the film has been signed up to a studio.
However, Ne-Yo has other plans for the script if he can't find a taker for it.
He added in an interview with the Daily Star newspaper: "I've got a few friends in the graphic novel business, so we will storyboard it but release it as a book first."
Talking about the script, Ne-Yo explained: "The underlying question is about your moral fibre. Is love, money or fame more important to you? The movie is really me and my friends answering that question."
The 30-year-old pop star is yet to find true love himself, but hopes that will change soon.
He said: "I'm working on the love. I get approached to do things all the time for money or fame but it may go against my moral design. Sometimes self love is more important."Posted on 11 May 2010 10:00 to category : Music News
