Neil Young 'still a wildcard' on acoustic guitar
Acoustic guitar legend Neil Young is still wowing the crowds with his energy and hunger even at the age of 65, it has been claimed.
Perfoming at the Citi Wang Theatre in Boston on Tuesday (April 19th) evening, Young was as vibrant and youthful as ever, banging out "rafter-rattling rock spectacles" and a varied array of acoustic classics, the Boston Globe reports.
Featuring an eclectic mix of his old and new material, Young was described as a "wild card" capable of evoking a range of emotions in the audience, from heavy-hitters like Hey Hey, My My, Tell Me Why and Helpless, through to softer tracks like Love and War.
Visitors to the gig were also treated to the opening act of Bert Jansch - the Scottish guitarist who counts rockers like Neil Young and Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page among his disciples.
Elsewhere, legendary musician Jeff Beck recently wowed with his amazing electric guitar skills at the Uptown Theater in Kansas City, US.
According to the Kansas City Star, Beck made the performance seem effortless when he took to the stage on Saturday evening.
