Neutral Milk Hotel set for 'globe spanning' tour in 2014
The cult band have announced a number of shows in the US and Asia but there is word that they will be expanding to further corners of the world over the next year no doubt whetting the appetite of fans across the globe.
Neutral Milk Hotel confirmed that the first batch of gigs include two dates in Athens, Georgia (October 22nd and 23rd 2013), Asheville, North Carolina (October 25th), the Hostess Club Festival in Taipei, Taiwan (November 28th) and Tokyo, Japan (December 1st).
It marks the first time that the collective has hit the road since 1999. They have been on hiatus since that tour and the release of the 1998 album In The Aeroplane Over The Sea.
In an interview with Pollstar, the band's agent Jim Romeo said: "Everyone is very excited which is great. People should know that they shouldn't get discouraged if they don't get tickets to these few shows, there will be some more fall shows announced soon and a much longer and fuller tour planned for 2014 that will span the globe."
The current line-up features Jeff Magnum, Scott Spillane, Jeremy Barnes and Julian Koster.
